Who this is for
FieldOps is work software. A contracting company (for example an electrical contractor) signs up, adds its own staff, and uses FieldOps to schedule jobs, send its technicians to customers, and bill for the work. The contracting company decides what information goes in and is responsible for it; we run the software for them. If you are a technician or office employee, your employer created your account. If you are a customer of a contractor, the contractor entered your details.
What we collect, and why
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Staff name, work email, phone, role, sign-in password (stored only as a secure hash by our login provider) | To let you sign in and to show who did what |
| Precise location of a technician's phone — only while their shift is started and the app is open | So the office can see where the crew is and so a customer can see their technician on the way. Location stops when the shift ends or the app is closed. It is never collected in the background. |
| Photos taken on a job, and a customer's on-screen signature | A record of the work done, shown to the office and to that customer |
| Customer name, phone, email, job address, access notes, job history, estimates, invoices and payments | To do and bill the work the customer asked for |
| A notification token for the technician's phone | To notify a technician when a job is added or moved |
| Basic technical logs (time, error messages) | To keep the service running and fix problems |
We do not show ads, we do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to build profiles for anyone else.
Who it is shared with
Only service providers needed to run FieldOps, each under their own security and privacy terms:
- Supabase — database, file storage and sign-in (hosted in the United States).
- Cloudflare — serves the app pages.
- GoHighLevel — if the contractor connects it, customer contact details and job texts go through the contractor's own GoHighLevel account.
- QuickBooks Online (Intuit) — if the contractor connects it, customers, invoices and payments are copied to the contractor's own books.
- Stripe — if the contractor uses online card payments, the card is entered on Stripe's page; FieldOps never sees card numbers.
- OpenStreetMap — map pictures, and turning a typed job address into a map pin.
- Google Maps — only when you tap "Directions", which opens Google Maps with the job's address.
- Browser push services (Google, Apple, Mozilla) — deliver job notifications; the message content is encrypted end to end.
We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Security
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Each company's records are separated by database-level rules, so one company can never read another's. Technicians only see what their job needs — for example, never the company's costs. Photos are private and shared through links that expire after an hour. Connection keys for GoHighLevel, QuickBooks and Stripe are stored on the server and never sent to phones or browsers.
How long we keep it
For as long as the contractor keeps their FieldOps account, because job, invoice and payment records are business records they may need for tax and warranty purposes. Location history is kept for 90 days. When a contractor closes their account, we delete their data within 90 days, except where the law requires us to keep it longer.
Your choices
- Technicians can end their shift at any time to stop location sharing, and can turn notifications off in the app under Me.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information. Staff: ask your employer's FieldOps admin, or use the form on our account deletion page. Customers: contact the contractor who serves you; if you cannot reach them, use the same form.
Children
FieldOps is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell contractor admins of anything important.
